We are excited to announce a full-time School Social Worker opportunity for the 2024-25 school year in Arlington Heights, IL, working within a therapeutic day school. This unique position focuses on supporting EC-8th grade students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and require special education services. The school environment is highly collaborative and team-oriented, ensuring that every student receives the care and support they need.
Position Details:
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Students are in school from 9:15 AM - 3:15 PM).
Caseload: Support 4-5 classrooms of students, with 5-8 students per classroom.
Classroom Support: Each classroom includes one teacher and 2-4 paraprofessionals, ensuring a supportive and structured environment.
Approach: Services are push-in, emphasizing collaboration and integration within the classroom setting.

Conduct Assessments: Evaluate students’ needs through formal assessments and create appropriate action plans.
Advocate for Students: Serve as a liaison between students, schools, and community resources to ensure students’ rights and needs are met.
Promote a Positive School Climate: Foster a supportive and inclusive school environment that enhances student well-being.
Collaborate with Teachers and Staff: Work with educators and school personnel to identify and support at-risk students.
Maintain Confidential Records: Keep detailed and confidential records of student interactions, progress, and interventions.
Other Duties as Assigned
Master’s (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social Work.
IL PEL with an endorsement in Social Work.
Previous experience in a K-12 setting is preferred.
