We are expanding our team through Wayne and Taylor! We’re looking for passionate professionals who can provide exceptional speech and language services to students across a diverse range of needs. You’ll join a team of 12 other skilled SLPs, working alongside other supportive interdisciplinary teams including School Social Workers (SSWs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs). The Director of Special Education, who has 25 years of experience in the district in teaching and training, will be an excellent resource as you step into this role.
Opportunity 1:- Working across two buildings, an Elementary School and a Middle School
- Working alongside another SLP and supporting the POHI and cross categorical classrooms in the Middle School

- Supporting Kindergarten-3rd grade caseload and 1 lower elementary cross categorical room
- Office space
Opportunity 3:- One building
- Supporting 3rd-5th grade caseload and 1 upper elementary cross categorical room
- Office space
Opportunity 4:- Working across two buildings, an Elementary School and an Early Childhood Center
- Supporting 4th and 5th grade students at the Elementary School, working alongside another SLP
- Supporting ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) and POHI (Physical & Other Health Impaired) classroom
- Office space
Responsibilities:- Evaluate student’s speech-language abilities to prepare and conduct treatment plans
- Provide high-quality direct speech-language therapy services to students according to the students’ IEPs
- Conduct assessments, translate, and analyze assessment results, and develop reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills
- Use professional literature, evidence-based research, and continuing education to make practice decisions
- Create a learning environment characterized by effective and efficient process management strategies (procedures, instructional groups, transition materials)
- Participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings
- Develop treatment plans, in conjunction with instructional staff, that are strength-based, as well as child and family-centered for overall educational improvement
- Ensure evaluations, intervention plans, and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines
- Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid MI SLP license
