Key Responsibilities:
- Supervised Assessments and Treatment: Under the supervision of experienced SLPs, assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, language processing, and communication delays.
- Supportive IEP Development: Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' specific communication needs, with ongoing support from a mentor.
- Therapy Sessions: Provide individual and group therapy to students, focusing on speech and language development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other staff to provide a holistic approach to student support and ensure that students are able to access the curriculum effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student progress, treatment plans, and assessments, with guidance from experienced team members.
- Team Meetings: Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings, providing valuable input on students' communication needs.
- Classroom Support: Assist students in the classroom by offering speech and language support, including providing recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Clinical Fellow status—this position is open to CFs who are seeking to complete their Clinical Fellowship year.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, while seeking guidance and support as needed
- A passion for working with high school-aged students is preferred
- This is a full-time position (5 days per week) through May 23rd, 2025.
- The schedule is already established, and you will have the support of an experienced team, including a full-time SLP and a part-time SLP in the building to guide you during your Clinical Fellowship year.
- Background check, TB test, and physical required upon offer of employment through our partner district.
- Mentorship and Support: Receive hands-on mentorship and guidance from an experienced Clinical Director who is committed to helping you succeed in your CF year. AnthroMed Education provides a CF Mentor for you!
